Happy Birthday to Jimmy!

My fabulous husband turned 33 on Monday, September 26th. We celebrated Sunday with a family party at my parents' house with ribeyes, twice baked potatoes (which Jimmy said were the best potatoes he'd ever had in his entire life), Mom's caesar salad, and mint chocolate chip ice cream cake. It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time celebrating Jimmy!

Jimmy opened his presents from Jacob, Anna, and me prior to going over to my parents' house. He had three gifts and told Jacob he could open one, Anna could open one, and he could open one. Of course, the gift he was supposed to open became a group effort. It's so fun to see how much joy Jacob and Anna get from opening presents - even when they aren't theirs! Jacob was SO EXCITED about Jimmy's birthday cake so Jimmy was happy to let Jacob in on the action. Happy Birthday to the BEST Husband and Daddy in the world! We love you!

Looking Forward to Christmas

The other day Jacob got on the "phone" with Santa. He told us we needed to be quiet since he was talking to Santa. Jacob asked Santa how he was doing and told him he would like an ambulance, fire truck, candy and presents for Christmas. He paused like he was listening to his response and then told him thank you and said "bye, bye". So cute!

Then after nap he went into our downstairs closet and saw Jimmy's wrapped birthday presents. He runs out of the closet wide eyed and grinning ear to ear and says "Mommy, Santa Claus brought me presents!!!!!" I had to explain that the presents were actually for Daddy and Santa Claus wouldn't be bringing him presents until Christmas. Thankfully he wasn't too disappointed.

Needless to say, I think he's really going to enjoy Christmas this year!

Anna is Crawling!

Anna started "traditionally" crawling last weekend. Here is our cutie in action!

Trip to North Carolina

We ventured over to Jimmy's Dad's house in North Carolina two weeks ago for several days of family fun. Jimmy's brother, niece, grandma, aunt and uncle also met us there. We had a great trip! Here are a few of the highlights.

Aunt Pat and Uncle Ronnie brought lots of fun toys for Jacob, Anna, and Sable. This play tent was a big hit with all of them.

Prior to our visit GrandDad had checked out the children's museum, Marbles. It was a huge hit with all of us. Anna spent a lot of time with Aunt Pat and was very happy.

The museum even had an outdoor area that included a big sand pit with trucks.

Popsicle time!

Sable ate her popsicle quickly while Jacob savored every last drop. After Sable finished hers she started walking over close to Jacob. Jacob kept inching further and further away. It was hilarious to watch Sable try to figure out how to get part of Jacob's popsicle and Jacob make sure Sable didn't get too close to him!

It was so wonderful to see everyone. We had a great trip and look forward to all of us getting together again soon!

All about August

Here are my favorite pictures from a hot, fun-filled August!

How cute is this? When I asked Jacob what he was doing he said he was sending an email to Anna and about to make a phone call. Ha! I'm not sure Anna likes wearing the Firefighter hat as much as Jacob does! I think Jacob is trying to be loving here but he obviously put poor Anna in a headlock just as I snapped this picture. Needless to say, I quickly intervened.

Anna showing off her teeth Anna has grown up so much this month! She is saying Ma-ma and Da-da, waving bye-bye, eating everything in sight, jumping high in her jumperoo, and standing at the kitchen set and toy boxes to play. Here she is "cooking" some dinner. :)

Jacob's First Day of School

Jacob started school on Wednesday, August 31st. He continues to go to the PDO program at our church and his new teachers are Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Denise. Both teachers seem wonderful and Jacob confirmed that they were both very nice. There are 10 kids in his class and six of them were together last year. Seeing familiar faces and being in a familiar setting made for a very easy transition.

I was very excited to take Jacob on his first day as I missed it last year because of bedrest. When I left, Jacob stuck out his bottom lip but didn't cry. His teachers said he was quiet and observant at first but once he warmed up, he got in the action and talked away. Jacob was very happy when I picked him up and was very eager to show me the flashlight. On the way home he talked about eating goldfish, playing with the vacuum, flashlight, and ball, and playing with his friend, Eva Belle. I'm so excited for Jacob as I know he is going to have so much fun this year!

Jacob wasn't interested in having his picture taken (surprise, surprise) so I got multiple shots of his back.

And then we tried me getting in the picture with him....nope.

However, I did get a little smile when he was showing me the flashlight. :)
