Cute Pictures of Jacob

Here are some of my favorite pictures we've taken of Jacob in the past few weeks.

Jacob is starting to enjoy books - YAY!

Jacob also LOVES to stand up - especially on top of Mommy or Daddy!

I think we may have a Volunteer on our hands!

Of course, he does seem to love UGA too, doesn't he??

Kelly Visits and We Visit Nana at School

Last week Kelly flew in from Switzerland for a visit so we had an "impromptu" Girls Dinner on Monday, May 18th. As always, we had a great time and Kelly got to meet Ainsley, Tyler and Jacob for the first time.

Then, on Wednesday, May 20th we visited Nana at school. Jacob had fun at first but a class full of rowdy second graders wore him down!

Jacob is 4 Months Old!

When you are pregnant moms tell you how wonderful motherhood is going to be. I certainly believed everyone but it is amazing how being a mom is even better than I ever imagined it to be. Yes, there are sleepless nights and challenging days but I absolutely love being a mom to our precious Jacob. He is such a blessing to our family!

I am amazed that 4 months have already passed since Jacob was born. We went to the doctor on Friday, May 8th and got a great report. Jacob is now 12 1/2 pounds and 23 3/4 inches long. He is in the 10th percentile on his weight, length and head circumference. I was a little disappointed to hear that he was only in the 10th percentile but the pediatrician was very pleased with Jacob's growth and how proportional he is. =) He’s doubled his weight and grown 5 inches since birth.

At 4 months old Jacob is becoming so much fun! He loves to chat and have me sing and dance for him. His favorite songs are “Itzy Bitzy Spider”, “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes”, “Jacob Porter Had a Farm”, and “Whistle While You Work”. He tries to sing, whistle, and dance along with me and it is so darn cute!! I’ve also brought out chants from my old cheerleading days as I figure I might as well start teaching him about sports and brushing up on my cheering skills. =)His favorite cheers are “Hustle, Hustle” and “We’ve Got Spirit”. I love having this precious little boy fully appreciate my goofy and silly side – it’s going to be so sad when he starts rolling his eyes at me!

Jacob is finally enjoying tummy time a little. He has begun scooching on his tummy in an attempt to crawl. He doesn’t get very far but it is still exciting to see how he is trying. He also loves to stand up, bounce, and just be carried around so he can see anything and everything. He also loves to look at, bat, grab, and chat with his “animal friends”. He is just too cute and so much fun!!

Here are some pictures of Jacob at 4 months.

My First Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful First Mother's Day. The plan was for Jimmy, Jacob, my parents, David, and me to meet at Monell's for brunch. However, after hearing that we'd have a 1 1/2 hour wait, we decided to get groceries and have brunch at our house instead. Chef Jimmy cooked up a scrumptious meal for Mom and me. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Our Fun Thursday

Nicole and Abigail came over Thursday during the day. Abigail was all smiles for her picture with Jacob but Jacob was hungry and wanted no part of picture time!

Later that evening I hosted my monthly "Girls Dinner". There are six of us who were sorority sisters in college who all live in the Nashville area and keep in close contact. We have dinner together once a month and rotate our homes. It is always such a fun night!!

The 30th Birthday Celebration Continues!

Jimmy surprised me with an evening in Nashville - just the two of us - to celebrate my birthday. We stayed at the Renaissance hotel downtown and had dinner at Morton's. We had such a wonderful time! My sweet parents kept Jacob for his first sleepover away from us and I'm happy to report that Jacob, Nana, and Papa also had a great time!

Here we are at the Renaissance Hotel. Moments after our arrival a pint of chocolate Haagen Daas ice cream was delivered to our door. Our celebration was off to a great start!
