First Haircut and Easter Egg Hunt

Wednesday, March 24 Jacob had his first haircut. Oh my goodness was it an event! We tried him in the chair but he was not having that so Lori recommended I hold him. That didn't help either as evident by this picture!

Lori then came up with the idea of heading outside to finish the job. He calmed down a little but was still quite upset. I don't know what was so tramatic about getting a haircut but Jacob did not enjoy it at all!

The tears finally stopped when the event was over and he was given some yogurt melts.

Saturday, March 27 we had our neighborhood's Easter egg hunt. Here are a few shots of Jacob in action.

My Sweet Boy

When I was putting Jacob to bed the other night, Jacob pulled his paci out of his mouth and gave me a big kiss on the cheek. It was so sweet and a memory I don't want to forget!

Jacob continued to show his sweet side when Paige and William came over yesterday. Jacob was quite interested in William and kept walking by his carrier and looking at him. When he noticed William's toys were not in his carrier he went and picked them up and "gave" them to William (granted I think he placed the stuffed bird on William's head but it's the thought, right?). Jacob's ultimate sign of friendship came when he got the Cling Wrap box from the pantry and tried to give it to William. Thankfully, Paige intercepted the Cling Wrap and avoided a potentially hard landing in William's lap, but the gesture was sweet, nonetheless. Here's hoping that Jacob continues to share so nicely for at least a few more months!

Jacob and Tyler

Claire, Trent and Tyler came over for dinner Saturday night. Tyler walked in with a big smile and was ready to party! When it was bathtime we put the boys on the stairs and let them "race" to the top. Tyler took an early lead.

However, Tyler's lead was cut when I decided to move to the top of the stairs for optimal picture taking capabilities. Jacob took advantage of the opportunity and took over the lead.

Last time we tried bathing the boys together it ended in lots of tears. This time we had much better luck; the boys actually enjoyed themselves!

The Bathroom Bandit

Jacob has been having a little too much fun in the bathroom. He has dropped a hanger, a burp cloth, and a toy all in the toilet and unrolled a roll of toilet paper he found under his bathroom cabinet. You would think we never kept an eye on this child! Both incidents happened in mere seconds of me walking away - he is like lightning!
Jacob laughing at his silly Daddy who decided to play with the toilet paper as well.

Fun in the Sun

This past weekend was gorgeous and we spent a lot of time outside with our little guy. On Saturday we headed over to the Moore Elementary playground. This was the second time we've taken Jacob but he's still not sure what he's supposed to do with all of the play equipment. However, at a minimum, he really enjoys playing with the mulch and walking around looking at everything!

Jacob and I tried out this spinning seat thing. Neither of us cared for it. =)
Jacob showing me his latest treasure. Back home we go.... After church on Sunday we headed to the little "park" in our neighborhood. (Speaking of church, Jacob was actually happy when we picked him up from the nursery! This was a first in several months and a great achievement for all of us.)
Jacob and Jimmy playing with the bushes.

Jacob found this loose branch and loved playing with it. When he was tired of the branch he actually took it back to the bush he found it in!

Jimmy flew out to Detroit Sunday night so Jacob and I decided to spend the night with my parents. Here are a couple of cute pictures of Nana and Jacob playing.

Mall Playground

So you know the mall indoor playground - the one you think that must be gross and you'd never let YOUR child play in it? Well that's where we went on Friday. =) I actually said prior to becoming a mom that I would never let my child play there. But, oh how things change when you are a stay-at-home mom to a one year old! Jacob and I met Miss Jennifer and Evie for Jacob's first lunch at Chick-fil-a before heading to the indoor play area. Jacob loved his chicken strip and I loved that Chick-fil-a had stick-on disposable placemats for the kiddos. It was fun to watch Evie and Jacob play and see how differently they approached things. Evie was eager to get into the action while Jacob stood back and took everything in before deciding what he was going to do. We had a great time but decided it was time to go when we caught Evie with a used bandaid in her mouth! Here are a couple of cute pictures of Jacob and Evie.

It's the Little Things....Like Publix Balloons

We were at Publix yesterday and Jacob became all excited when he spotted a purple Publix balloon in the checkout line. He was smiling, bouncing in his seat, pointing to it, and chanting Ma-Ma-Ma-Ma! The cashier asked if he would like the balloon so I gave it to him. He was so excited that the cashier asked if he'd ever had a balloon before. (He has but it had been a few weeks). Jacob, no doubt, loves balloons but he was so enamored with this balloon and played with it all afternoon. He was so cute!

Uh-oh where did it go?

Life is great - Jacob has the balloon and Tiger
