Jacob's 15 Month Update

Jacob was 15 months old on April 8th so I am definitely behind on my posting. We went to the doctor on April 9th for his checkup and got a great report! Jacob is now 22 1/2 lbs (25th percentile) and 30 3/4 inches long (45th percentile) and is in good health.

Jacob has recently become very interested in "cleaning" especially the kitchen floor. I guess he has noticed how it is always dirty. :) Jacob loves playing in the pantry. I rearranged the pantry so he can play to his heart's desire. He loves to shake the pasta and rice boxes, stack items, and turn metal cookie tins into drums.
Jacob continues to love his big stuffed tiger. He loves to play and pounce on him....

...and snuggle with him
In addition to tiger and pantry goodies, Jacob's favorite toys are his push toys, puzzles, phones, the remote, and balls. His favorite books are the "Farm" flap book, "Creation" texture book, "Five Speckled Frogs", and "Snuggle Puppy". He loves turning the pages and pointing at all the pictures and having us tell him what everything is. He is really only saying "Mama" and Dada" at this point; everything else is "dah" or "bah" with his finger pointing. Jacob seems to understand most everything we say now which is so amazing.

Jacob continues to give great slobbery kisses and is very generous with his kisses for me. He also loves being chased by Daddy, being outside, turning on the master tub water, trying to play with the printer (not allowed), and playing with his toothbrush. I desperately try to brush his teeth every night but it is quite challenging. He is much more interested in "brushing" them himself. He already has three of his molars and I'm sure the fourth one isn't far behind.
Jacob loves to eat and is a great eater. There are few things he won't eat but carrots is one of the more notable things. I find this so funny because he loved baby food carrots. His favorite foods are bananas and cheese. When we see bananas in the grocery store he gets so excited. It is hilarious!
Jacob is very busy and is always into something. A few weeks ago I was cleaning the kitchen and Jacob had wandered off to play. A few minutes later he walked into the kitchen holding one of my crystal goblets by the stem! He gingerly handed it to me and I very calmly took it from him and explained that we don't play in the dining room buffet. I put a rubberband around the knobs and thankfully this has deterred him for now.
We love and adore our sweet Jacob so much and are so excited about all the future holds for him and for us as his parents!

Happy Easter!

Here are a few pictures from Easter. After church we had Easter dinner at our house with my parents and brother followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for Jacob. We had a great day!
