Jacob has expanded his diet to include carrots. Isn't he quite the food connoisseur? And I thought cleaning up after cereal was a pain.....

Jacob Eats Cereal
The time finally came for Jacob to enjoy the delicacy of rice cereal. He LOVES it! I guess that stuff is better than I thought.....He's had both single grain and whole grain and gobbles both up. Next week we're moving on to oatmeal - whoo hoo!
Jacob during his first feeding of rice cereal.
Here he is chowing down now that he's getting the hang of it. He is also a huge fan of the spoon since he is teething. His two bottom teeth have cut through and are so cute! I haven't managed a picture though as they are so tiny and he thinks anytime my finger comes within a foot near his mouth I am offering it as a teething device.
All finished and happy as a lark! Off to the sink we go!

Jacob is 6 Months Old!
It is so difficult for me to believe that Jacob is already 6 months old! My how quickly the time goes! We went to the pediatrician on Wednesday, July 8th and got a great report. Jacob is now 14 lbs, 11 oz and 25 inches long. He's still a little guy for his age buthe's been growing well. He is starting to get into everything and becoming more fun each day!

At 6 months old, Jacob's favorite songs are the "ABCs", "Jacob Porter Had a Farm", and "Boom, Boom, Ain't It Great to Be Crazy". His favorite toys are his musical duck, Tigger, musical light-up star, toy cell phone, and duck puppet. He also has quite the fascination with the remote control. I had no idea the male obsession with remotes started this young but apparently it does! His favorite books are "What Makes Elmo Happy?" and "Quack, Quack!" which has lots of fun animal pictures and textures for him to feel. He also loves feeling faces and grabbing hair. We've had a couple of battles on him releasing my hair so I've decided to not wear earrings for awhile in an attempt to keep my ear lobes intact. I figure they would be next!
Jacob loves having his Daddy tickle his belly!

Jacob's favorite activity, without a doubt, is to stand, on anything and anyone, and try to walk. I'm trying to make him realize that crawling and/or rolling is easier and would enable him to move around but he isn't buying it.

Here's Jacob on my shoulders and grabbing my hair, of course!

Jacob has decided his play mats are better used for standing than tummy time!

We are so blessed to have this precious little boy to raise and I am so excited about the next 6 months with Jacob!

Visit from the Kniplings
On June 28th Keely, Brian, Reagan, and Jackson came over to visit. They were in town for Keely's brother's wedding and I was so excited we were able to get together for a few hours. This was the first time we'd been together since Jacob and Jackson were born and it was so fun to see the kiddos and catch up with Keely and Brian.

Jacob's First Trip to Boston
On June 24th we ventured up to Boston to visit my grandfather, Papa, and my aunts, uncles, and cousins. We had a wonderful trip visiting everyone!

The twins were 6.3 and 6.5 when they were born. Since Jacob was also 6.3 when he was born it was so amazing to see him next to Jenna and Owen. He has grown so much in 5 1/2 months!
Happy Birthday to David!
We celebrated David's 29th birthday at my parents' house with a lobster dinner. Here is Jacob with his first live lobster. Needless to say, he wasn't too sure about it.
