Thanksgiving 2010

We are so thankful for all our blessings and had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. We had a visit from Nanny, Uncle Bob, and Aunt Pat the weekend before Thanksgiving, a visit from GrandDad Porter for the week of Thanksgiving, and a visit from Jen and Tyler on Wednesday. We had a wonderful week and loved introducing Anna to everyone!

The day before Thanksgiving Nana and Jacob decorated cookies to look like turkeys. We took the easy route and bought refrigerated sugar cookie dough. As soon as Nana opened the package Jacob grabbed a ball of dough and popped it in his mouth. Nana explained that we were supposed to put the dough on the cookie sheet and held out the package for him to do just that. Instead he grabbed a second ball and popped it in his mouth. It cracked us up! Needless to say decorating went the same way with more candy ending up in Jacob's belly than on the cookies but we all had a great time. I love having a toddler at the holidays!!

My BAAAAAABY!!

Our first week at home with two kids has been wonderful. Jacob absolutely loves his baby sister who he affectionately calls "My Baaaaaby" in his sweet southern drawl. Jacob starts talking about Anna as soon as he gets out of bed and loves having her around. He gives Anna lots and lots and lots of kisses everyday. We are so blessed to have our two precious babies!

Anna had her first pediatrician appointment today and we were excited to get a great report. She now weighs 7lbs, 7oz (25th percentile) and is 20 1/2 inches (30th percentile).

Jacob was SO EXCITED to have "Baby" home!! Nana and Gramps took Jacob to the store to pick out balloons and flowers to welcome us home and he loved giving us his gifts. Of course, his favorite gift was lots and lots of kisses for Anna. He was so incredibly sweet and cute!

Halloween Part 2: "Anna Renae is Born!"

Halloween became a little more eventful when I suspected my water had broken. Jimmy and I headed to the hospital around 7:30pm and my suspicions were confirmed. We were both in a little bit of shock but very excited as the hospital staff started preparing us for Anna's c-section delivery. Anna arrived at 9:41pm and was a healthy 7lbs, 5oz and 20.5 inches long. We are so blessed!!!

Here's our sweet Anna!! One of the nurses made an adjustment to her cap so she'd be styling in the nursery with a cute bow!
The next morning Nana told Jacob they were going to meet Baby Anna at the hospital. Jacob ran into Anna's room and got her pink stuffed hippo to bring. He walked into our hospital room with the hippo saying "Baby, Baby, Baby!" and was so excited to give his new sister her toy.

Jacob has been showering Anna with lots and lots of kisses!

Halloween Part 1: "Pumpkin Carving and Trick-or-Treating"

Our Halloween activities started with Jimmy and Jacob making our Jack-o-lantern. This picture precisely displays Jacob's interest level in pumpkin carving. Oh well, there's always next year and Daddy sure had fun!

Here's our cute giraffe dressed and ready for some trick-or-treating! Although we couldn't get a smile for the camera, Jacob was very excited to wear his costume and had a good time trick-or-treating with Daddy and Nana.

Playground Fun

Jimmy and Jacob have enjoyed lots of quality time together since I went on bed rest 4 weeks ago. They've been having a great together and their favorite activity is playing on the playground. Jacob especially loves the slides and has become much more adventurous in the past few weeks. Here are some pictures of Jacob in action!
