Zoo!
We spent last Saturday morning at the zoo. It was a gorgeous day and we had a wonderful time being outside and seeing the animals. The highlights were seeing an elephant drink and spray water, the lorikeets, and eating popcorn (of course). Here are the kids with the lorikeets.

Home Sweet Home
Jacob's new favorite activity is to build and play in "his house". This involves him removing all of the couch cushions and piling them between the coffee table and the couches. He has a kitchen and beds for everyone and loves having Anna and me over to play.
Here Jacob is showing me the "clothes" he keeps in his "bedroom".
Here he is in the "kitchen". Of course it was necessary for him to go to the "grocery store" (my pantry) to stock up on food so we could come over for breakfast. He even rode his car back and forth from the "store" to his "house" with his groceries in tow. It's pretty darn cute.
Anna initally thought Jacob's "house rules" might allow her to stand on the couch. She was sadly mistaken. After a few tantrums she now understands the rule in all of our houses.
The other night I left the serving spoon on the kitchen table. I turned around and saw Anna trying to eat with it. It totally cracked me up and I was so excited the camera was close to capture the moment.
We think it is so funny and cute when Anna puts on this mask. She just walks around the house giggling and walking up to us to get a reaction. So stinkin' cute!

Southern Snow
It snowed on February 19th and our house was excited! I think the snow was on the ground for about 20 minutes but Jimmy was very organized and had the kids outside "sledding" and making a snowman. I unfortunately wasn't feeling well but I had fun taking pictures and watching all the action.
Jimmy dressed the kids in a thousand layers. I cracked up laughing when I saw Anna. She looked like the Pillsbury dough-girl!

One Crane
This winter has been so mild but leave it to me to choose one of the coldest days to go to the zoo. We saw one crane. That is it. One crane. We tried to see the monkeys, macaws, elephants, giraffes and a few others but it was too cold for them. We then decided it was time for popcorn and then the playground. My mom and I figured we'd play a few minutes and then try to find some animals that like the cold. However, the kids were having a blast playing especially since they had the playground basically all to themselves so we decided to make it a day at the playground. Despite the cold it was a fabulous morning and we even enjoyed our picnic lunch outside.

Jacob enjoying his popcorn that he begun asking about as soon as he found out we were going to the zoo.
