We love October! We love the weather, the decorations, the birthday and anniversary celebrations, and all the fun outdoor activities! The kids were very excited to pull out all of our Halloween décor! Our new ghosts and the Countdown Calendar were the declared favorites.
What is fall without some football with friends? How cute are Samuel, Anna, Jacob, and Eli?!
We switched out our planters from hot pink zinnias to yellow mums. The kids decided we needed to replant the (almost dead) zinnias in the woods. It's amazing how much fun they can have with shovels!
We've made it a family tradition to visit Gentry's Farm the first Saturday of October. Every year we have more fun than the year before! Jacob was very excited about the corn maze and declared himself our leader since he is very good at mazes. :)
The kids always enjoy seeing the cows on the tractor ride (even if they don't look like they do because of the sun). This year the cows were eating pumpkins for a treat (didn't know cows enjoyed pumpkins) and we were able to see calves that were a few weeks old!
They are getting so tall!
Having fun at the "corn table"
Daddy and Jacob had a great time playing the bean bag game.

Anna chose the tire swing instead and kept insisting that I push her higher and higher and higher! This girl loves to swing!

The next October event was my dad's birthday. The kids loved picking Gramps out gifts and insisted on him opening them the moment we arrived. Here Gramps is opening Jacob's first gift - balloons.
And what goes well with balloons? A balloon pump, of course! We had a fun time figuring out how to blow up the balloons with the pump. :)
Anna picked out a pinwheel for Gramps' yard. She originally chose pink but I was able to help her reason that blue was a better choice.
Since Daddy's birthday "balloon in a box" was such a hit, Jacob told me we must do this for Gramps. Jacob just knew Gramps was going to love it. He loved it almost as much as the kids. :)
We made a "Bob the Builder" decoration for the cake after Gramps told Jacob he wanted a "Bob the Builder" party. :) We determined "Bob the Builder" is not too popular in our area as we couldn't find a single balloon, plate, napkin, etc.
Another fall family tradition is Cheekwood. We started with a picnic lunch. Why does food always taste better outside on a blanket?
Jimmy and I had our picture taken in this spot when I was pregnant with Jacob. Five years later here I am with my two sweet babies! It is unbelievable how quickly time goes!
The kids were super excited to see a "Pete the Cat" scarecrow. They both started singing "Rockin' in my School Shoes"!
The "Snowcrow" was another favorite.
Here's to another fabulous fall!
