Our sweet Jacob turned four on January 8th. Four! My how quickly the time goes! Jacob has brought us so much joy over the past four years and it has been so fun seeing him grow from a sweet little baby into such an amazing little boy! Jacob is definitely interested in the typical "boy" things. He loves to wrestle, chase, and "go on monster hunts" and barely lets Jimmy in the door before he is requesting his wrestling time. :) He loves to build forts so our couch cushions, pillows, playroom chairs, and blankets are constantly in use as building materials. Jacob also loves legos, trucks, and tools. He loves, loves, loves to be outside playing in the woods, using his outside tools, helping out Daddy with yardwork, playing "Bob the Builder" with Gramps, and playing on the playset. He is a very active and fun little boy!
Jacob continues to love books and is very interested in animals. We've been checking out lots of animal books at the library to learn more about skunks, snakes, owls, polar bears, arctic foxes, deer, dinosaurs, etc. He is very inquisitive and asks very thoughtful questions, most of which we have no idea what the answer is. Jimmy and I are amazed at all the things we've learned because of him! Jacob also loves books when he is supposed to find hidden objects and books with trucks. His favorite book is Richard Scarry's "Cars and Trucks" which enables him to find "Goldbug" and have multiple vehicles on every page. Jacob also loves numbers and counting and thinks it is fun to "time ourselves" cleaning by counting to 100. I think this is a fabulous game. :)
Jacob continues to be a very sweet and thoughtful child. He is always making us gifts, sharing his treats, helping out with messes and chores, and is a great big brother (most of the time). We are so happy and blessed that he is ours!!
Jacob requested his family birthday dinner be at Nacho's, his favorite restarant. Nana, Gramps and Uncle David met us there and Jacob had a wonderful dinner of cheese dip, chips and chicken fajitas. Afterwards we headed back to our home for presents and cake and ice cream.
Jacob received this Lightning McQueen remote control car.
Jacob's favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so his birthday theme was easy to decide. He loved this Mickey Mouse balloon!
Jacob was very excited about his Mickey Mouse chocolate, chocolate chip cake and vanilla ice cream! He also wanted both a #4 candle and 4 individual candles.
I love this sweet picture of Anna and Jacob both cracking up! Such fun times!
The next day Jacob was excited to work outside with his new yard tools from Nana and Gramps. What a fabulous birthday celebration for a fabulous four year old! We LOVE our Jacob!!
